ListMyDay

Caregiver and care-receiver user guide

ListMyDay keeps a simple daily schedule visible on an iPhone or iPad. The same app can be set up as a Caregiver (manage items and approve devices) or a Care receiver (view the daily board).

1. Set up a caregiver

  1. Install and open ListMyDay on your caregiver iPhone or iPad.
  2. Choose Set up as caregiver.
  3. For a new household, choose Create new household, enter a household name, and complete creation. If joining an existing household, use its private invitation under Connect your household.
  4. If a recovery key is displayed, save it securely outside the app. Do not share it with the care receiver or put it in screenshots.
  5. Once connected, use the caregiver screen to add and manage items.

Household creation depends on whether registration is enabled on the service. If it is unavailable, contact the person operating your ListMyDay server.

2. Connect a care-receiver iPad or iPhone

  1. On the caregiver device, find Pending approvals and choose Allow a new display for 10 minutes.
  2. Read the short 8-character pairing code shown on the caregiver device.
  3. On the second device, open ListMyDay, choose Set up as care receiver, enter that pairing code, and choose Connect display.
  4. The receiver requests authorization and shows a separate six-digit verification code. Compare this with the pending request on the caregiver device.
  5. On the caregiver device, approve the matching request and choose the offered authorization duration.
  6. Wait for the receiver to connect, or use Check approval if shown.

A pairing code only finds the household. It does not authorize access without the caregiver's separate approval. If the window expires, open a new one and request a fresh code.

3. Manage the daily schedule

Add and edit

On the caregiver device, choose Add item, enter the task or appointment details, select its date and any repeat schedule, and publish or save it as offered. Check the care-receiver board after synchronization. Edit or remove items from the caregiver interface.

Daily repeating tasks

A daily recurring task may appear under both TODAY and TOMORROW when tomorrow preview is enabled. These are separate daily occurrences.

Complete a task

On the care-receiver board, tap Done today for an actionable task under TODAY. The TOMORROW preview is informational and has no completion button. When no actionable items remain today, the board may show Nothing else for today.

4. Readability and display options

ListMyDay supports five board text sizes, high-contrast options, a tomorrow preview, and speech preferences. A caregiver can configure display preferences; some receiver-specific settings can be adjusted locally when not using caregiver-controlled display preferences. Choose the largest readable size for the device's viewing distance.

For assistive access, try iOS VoiceOver and the device's accessibility settings. Keep the receiver in its normal board view for day-to-day use.

5. Troubleshooting

Display is waiting for approval

Check that the caregiver opened a current 10-minute enrollment window, that the receiver used the matching pairing code, and that the caregiver explicitly approved the matching six-digit verification code.

Items are not updating

Confirm both devices can reach the internet and the caregiver is connected to the correct household. Allow time for synchronization. Do not delete the household or reinstall the app as a first troubleshooting step.

Tomorrow is missing

Check whether Show tomorrow is enabled in display preferences and that an item actually occurs tomorrow. Daily recurring tasks should appear on both days.

Household name says “Not loaded”

This indicates the caregiver app did not obtain or display the household name. It does not by itself prove household data is missing. If tasks and pairing work, avoid resetting the household solely to fix the label; report the issue for diagnosis.

6. Credentials, reset and deletion

Keep the household recovery key private. The care receiver does not need that key for normal use. A caregiver must approve each new display device.

Reset household data and Permanently Delete Household are different operations. Reset clears working data and device approvals while retaining the household identity and recovery key. Permanent deletion is intended to remove the household and its server-managed data and keys and cannot be undone. Follow every confirmation carefully; use a disposable test household when evaluating these controls.

For a care receiver that accidentally enters Device Administration, choose the prominent GO BACK! control to return to the board. The unfinished administration screen is also designed to return after inactivity.
